How to Run a Season in SimCap

A season ties a group's tournaments together into one ongoing points race. Only the group Creator or an Admin can start one, and a group can only have one active season at a time. If you haven't run a tournament yet, start there: How to Run a Tournament in SimCap.

Start a season

  1. Open Social.
  2. Select the group under My Groups.
  3. Scroll to Tournaments.
  4. Tap Start season, next to Create Tournament.

Fill in:

  • Name — e.g. "Summer 2026."
  • Start date.
  • Open-ended — on leaves the season running with no end date; off adds an End date field.
  • Every event counts — on means every finished tournament in the season adds its points. Off shows an Events that count stepper (1–52): only the best N finishes count toward standings, and a tournament you skip is left out of the average, not scored as a zero.

Tap Start season.

How tournaments join a season

Once a season is active, creating a new tournament in that group shows a toggle during setup — Part of [season name]? — defaulting to Yes. Leave it on to have that tournament's results count toward the season. Switch it off for a one-off event you don't want affecting the season standings. A tournament can only belong to the season that was active when it was created.

How points work

Points are awarded per finished tournament, by where each player (or team) places: 1st=10, 2nd=8, 3rd=6, 4th=5, 5th=4, 6th=3, 7th=2, 8th=1, 9th and below=0.

Placement comes from the tournament's own result: bracket finish for Match Play (champion is 1st, runner-up 2nd, and so on by the round you were eliminated), or standings rank for Stroke Play, Scramble, and Best Ball. A player who didn't play in a given tournament just doesn't get points for it — that event is skipped for them, not scored as a zero.

Standings

The active season's card on Social shows its name, date range, and whether every event counts or only the best N — tap Season standings for the full points table, updated as each included tournament finishes.
