We built this because a facility asked for it

A facility running GSPro reached out with a simple problem: their members wanted to log rounds toward a real handicap on GSPro courses that weren't in SimCap's existing course list — and they needed that handicap to travel into the league platform they already run for their community. SimCap's curated list covers a lot of ground, but GSPro's course library is enormous, and no facility should have to wait on us to individually vet every course before their members can play toward their index.

So we built it.

The hard part wasn't importing courses

Importing course names is easy. The actual problem is that most of the golf simulator world doesn't have access to official slope rating and course rating for the vast majority of GSPro courses — those numbers are licensed data, and the places that do have them don't allow bulk use at this scale. We weren't willing to fake it, and we weren't willing to quietly guess and call it official.

So we didn't. Instead, we built an honest system:

• Where GSPro's own community difficulty data gives us something real to work with, we use it to estimate a course's slope — and we label it as exactly that. A course using this shows a "Slope by GSPro" badge, right where you'd see it.
• Where there's nothing usable to go on, we fall back to a standard default and label it "Estimated" — no invented precision, no pretending.
• Every round logged on these courses counts fully toward your handicap index, the same math as any other round. No discount, no asterisk on the number itself — just a clear label on where the course data came from, so you always know what you're looking at.

That's the whole philosophy: give facilities the course library they actually need, without ever dressing up a guess as a fact.

What this means today

This is live right now for the facility that asked for it — their members can log rounds on essentially the full public GSPro course catalog, thousands of courses beyond our curated list, all counting toward a real, portable handicap index.

It's not switched on for everyone yet. We'd rather roll this out deliberately, facility by facility, than flip it on everywhere before we're sure it's right.
