How to Invite Friends and Start a Group
SimCap is useful alone. It gets more interesting with a crew. Groups are how you keep handicaps, chat, and tournaments with the same people week after week. Everything starts on the Social tab.
Create a group
- Open Social.
- Scroll to My Groups.
- Tap Create your first group (or Create a New Group if you already have one).
- Enter a Group name and tap Create.
You need to be signed in. After it saves, the group shows up under My Groups, and you're the first member and the Creator.
Invite people
Open the group, then:
- + Invite — any member can do this. Enter an email and tap Send invite. If they already have SimCap, they'll see Accept / Decline at the top of Social. If they don't, SimCap can open your email app with a signup message.
- Bulk Invite — Creator or Admin only. Paste multiple emails, one per line, and send them all at once.
If someone invites you, that Accept / Decline card at the top of Social is where you join.
What you see inside a group
Once people are in, the group shows member ranks (lower effective handicap first), each person's rounds, platform, index, and trend, plus Chat, Tournaments, and a Crew Match Calculator for in-person stroke allocation. Creators and Admins get badges so it's obvious who can manage things.
Roles, briefly
- Creator — full control, including promoting admins and deleting the group
- Admin — can manage tournaments and bulk invite
- Member — can invite one person at a time, chat, and play in group events
Deleting a group asks for confirmation. The crew disappears from the app for everyone — treat it as gone.
What to do next
With a group standing, you can run stroke play, match play, scramble, or best ball. Walkthrough here: How to Run a Tournament in SimCap.
