How to Log a Round

Logging a round is the core loop. Open Log a round from the center tab. It's one scrolling form, not a multi-step wizard. When you save, SimCap updates your index, Home chart, and Profile, and opens round analysis.

Manual entry

Work top to bottom:

1. Sim platform — Trackman, Foresight, Full Swing, E6, GSPro, or Garmin. Platform itself isn't a separate difficulty knob. It mainly changes which pin labels you see and which tee rating/slope rows show for the course.
2. Course — search and pick from SimCap's catalog. There's no free-form custom course name.
3. Date played — defaults to today. Used for your index timeline and recent-rounds order.
4. Tee — pick the tee closest to the yardage you played. Chips show rating / slope (and yardage when available). If nothing's close, use Custom and enter rating and slope yourself.
5. Score — gross total between 55 and 120. This screen logs a total, not hole-by-hole (tournament scorecards are separate when you need them).
6. Putting mode, pin placement, wind, mulligans — see below. These feed the difficulty adjustment on your differential.
7. Preview the Difficulty modifier and Adjusted differential before you commit. If you already have an index, you may also see an expected differential and a "shoot N or better" hint.
8. If you're in an active tournament, you'll get Apply this round to [name]? — Yes / No.
9. Tap Save round.

Scan Scorecard (GSPro only)

If the platform is GSPro, you'll see Scan Scorecard. On a phone you can use your photo library or camera. The scan may fill score, tee, putting mode, pin, wind, and mulligans.

Always review before saving. You might see banners like "please review before logging," "we weren't sure about some fields," or "couldn't read this scorecard — enter manually." Scan is a shortcut, not a blind submit.

What the condition settings actually do

SimCap starts from a raw differential based on your score, course rating, and slope. Then it adjusts for how the round was set up — putting, pins, wind, and mulligans — so easier indoor setups don't quietly inflate your index.

In plain English:

• Easier conditions (auto / 2-putt putting, easier pins, calm wind, more mulligans allowed) raise the difficulty modifier. Same gross score → less credit toward your index.
• Harder conditions (putting everything, harder pins, stronger wind, no mulligans) lower the modifier. Same gross → more credit.

Mulligans are a good example of the philosophy. They don't change the gross number you typed. They change how much that round helps your index. One mulligan is treated differently from three-plus, because those aren't the same round.

The preview on the log screen shows the modifier and adjusted differential so you're not guessing what you're about to post.

After you save

Your SimCap index rebuilds from your best-performing recent rounds. One counting round is enough to show an index on Home; it gets more stable as you add more.
